Anxiety
Fear can be crippling and even when we know what’s happening, it can still get in the way of being fully present in relationships, workplaces, and moments of rest. With anxiety, there is often more than meets the eye. As we work toward relief and freedom from anxiety we will employ a combination of strategies and tools to help with short-term symptom management and wholistic, attachment and relational-focused therapies to uncover, process and heal the roots of anxiety at a level of depth that can achieve long-term, lasting relief from anxiety and the underlying causes. My work with anxiety is less cognitive (trying to out-think anxiety) and more focused on discovering and processing the deeper wounds, experiences, and systemic factors that are causing your nervous system to not feel safe. Some approaches that address anxiety from a primarily cognitive approach provide short-term relief but fail to achieve lasting change because the underlying roots (trauma, family dynamics, shame, self-doubt, etc.) are still major driving forces in the person’s life.
